I was recently a member of a Facebook Group, and since the group includes quite a few people I knew during my childhood (I went by Robby back then), many ask me what I have been doing in the 55 years since I moved from Capitol Heights. Since it is really difficult to respond in Facebook chat I thought it would be easier to just add my bio from Classmates. Just discovered your blog this morning, and was quite blown away. Discovered Chuck Fraley’s Marlow Heights website some time ago, and was equally impressed. Born in HI in 1957. Lived in Camp Springs MD in early 60’s per USAF dad’s transfer to Bolling AFB. Dad “homesteaded” in area, finagled assignment to Andrew’s AFB until early 70’s retirement. Attended Catholic elementary school (St. John’s the Evangelist in Clinton) & Catholic high school (Bishop McNamara in Forestville). Virtually ALL social life involved neighborhood kids who attended Taney JH (renamed?) & Crossland HS. Moved to northern VA in ’78. Joined US Coast Guard in 1980, retired in 2000. After turning 66 in Dec ’23, find myself reminiscing quite a bit about formative years. Looking forward to wading through your entries, adding comments along the way. Thanks again, and here I go.

Please enjoy my blog. I started it in 2008, but then I got started on Twitter and got addicted to that so let the blog slip. I started back and have more stories of growing up in the area. Pretty funny ones, too.
